Project ‘Bella Ciao’ is a project that arose as a result of the 2020 Covid pandemic. ‘Bella Ciao’ was created by Claudia ‚Coco‘ Baricz (www.claudia-coco.com) and Katharina Natascha, who both lost their circus contracts as a consequence of the sudden closure of the entertainment industry. Since the duration of this closure doesn’t have a near end in sight, project ‘Bella Ciao’ seemed like a sensible way to ensure job stability and income.
The concept of ‘Bella Ciao’ is to create a circus show, based on the Spanish TV-show ‘La Casa de Papel’ with the intention to come up with a way to continue supporting the circus arts and generate job opportunities. The greater scope of ‘Bella Ciao’ foresees the composition of a circus show that initially tours on a regional level, as well as being adapted to the covid-19 safety regulations. Furthermore, the hopes are to get a partial subsidization by the state, by means of cultural relevance and national contribution.
